Pick-Up Ultimate and Scrimmages

To come out and play in a pick-up game, you don’t need to have your own team, be a great thrower, or even have any fancy equipment. You just need to be ready to run a little bit, have some fun, and perhaps make some new friends. Everyone is welcome to join! No need to contact us ahead of time—feel free to just show up.

Here’s what you should bring:

• A white and a dark-colored shirt, to facilitate dividing up teams
• Non metal cleats or athletic shoes
• Water bottle

Tuesday Night Pick-Up

First week of April until the last week of October
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Donnelly Park in Cedar Rapids

Tuesday night pick-up is loosely structured, making it a great environment for new or recreational players. Play usually goes until around 7:30 p.m.

Scrimmages are games for players who want more structure than pick-up.

Scrimmages will be played with an emphasis on offensive and defensive principles, spirit of the game/self-officiating, and competitive play. You don’t have to be an advanced player to attend a scrimmage. Scrimmages have many of the same rules as pick-up with a few additions:

• All players must bring a white and dark-colored shirt so that they may be divided into teams.
• All games are played with fourteen players on the field, seven for each team.
• All players must wear cleats or athletic shoes.
• All rules as outlined by USA Ultimate Rulebook 11th Edition will be in effect during games.
