April is a big month for Cedar Rapids Ultimate!
Today, April 3rd, marks the beginning of Thursday night Pick-Up games at Tomahawk Park. Play starts at 6PM and lasts until we run out of daylight. Please bring a light and a dark jersey or you can buy a reversible jersey! The Rockwell boys have already started their recreational Pick-Up games at Donnelly Park on Tuesday nights. Play starts at 5PM and goes until dark.
Monday, April 7th, is the first day of our Spring League. It’s free and you still got time to sign up. All experience levels are encouraged. League will happen every Monday at 6PM at Tomahawk Park.
Wait, there’s more! Cedar Rapids Ultimate is hosting our First Annual Ultimate Trivia Night on Thursday, April 17th. There will be fun prizes, food, a cash bar and trivia to test your knowledge of random facts. All the proceeds will come straight back to CRU, so please, invite your friends to make a team and support the organization that works to provide you with chances to play Ultimate throughout the year. It’s only $10 per player and you can make teams up to 8. The event starts at 7PM and will be held at the Library downtown. Also, if you are part of a business that would be interested in donating food or prizes please contact us.
Last but not least, we will cap off the month of April with our Spring Hat Tournament on Saturday, April 26th. Register as an individual and then we’ll put you on a team based on your experience and ability. This helps create a fun environment with teams of relatively even talent and a chance to play with new teammates. This is a great way to learn the game and meet new area players who love Ultimate as much as you do! It’s only $10 per player for a day full of Ultimate. Play will start at 10AM at Seminole Valley Park.
