Recently, Cedar Rapids Ultimate set a goal of raising $3000 by May 22, 2015. $3000 would cover expenses for roughly two years of programmatic activities. Below, is the request letter we are sending to potential donors and past donors. Please copy and print this letter if you know anyone who would be interested in supporting the mission of CRU.

Cedar Rapids Ultimate, is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the growth and development of the sport of Ultimate in the Cedar Rapids metro area. We know that with the support of the community we can further our mission to provide the games, tournaments and youth programming that allows athletes young and old to enjoy Ultimate.
Ultimate is a fast-paced, co-ed, non-contact team sport that involves passing a flying disc between teammates to score in the opposing team’s end zone. Ultimate is set apart from other sports because it is self-officiated, even at the highest levels of the sport. The integrity of each game is placed in the hands of the players, allowing them to learn responsibility, sportsmanship, self-confidence and even conflict resolution skills.
A large part of Cedar Rapids Ultimate’s mission is to teach area middle school and high school youth about the fundamentals of the sport, along with the interpersonal skills that are developed through the game. With your generosity our success with area youth will grow to provide jerseys, discs and training by certified coaches.
Your donation can make a large impact on the Ultimate community. A gift of $10 can provide an athlete with their first disc. $30 can pay for two participants to attend our summer youth camp. You can sponsor the training of a youth coach for only $75 and for $100 you could send a local team to compete in the state championship tournament. These are the types of activities and experiences that allow young athletes to build the constructive hobbies and relationships that can sustain them for their entire lives.
